Landing On Water

Landing Collective formed in 2016 with the intention to explore ideas of place, land, and identity with a focus on post-migration living, and the process of acculturation.

Water is migration’s biggest friend and foe – a vehicle and obstacle, but is also an origin of life. In 2017 we started working on audio-visual and choreographic work that includes water, its creatures and rhythms. The location produced work on locations, dancing and shooting on coasts, shores, and other water lines. This is part of the interest of telling a story larger than our own narratives, where do you go when you’ve ran away so far the only thing in front of you is water?

Exhibitions and Performances

Can You Hear The Birds From The Water? was included in Expanded Draught's Joint Effort II exhibition in Lubbock, TX, 2017. This video and other video and audio work we produced for this theme was shown internationally in festivals and exhibitions in Ireland, United States, and Greece, such as PLATFORM 2018 in Draíocht, Dublin and Eye’s Walk Festival in Greece.
