I’m very excited about my piece Foreignments finally launching as an online exhibition, the piece is available through this page, where you will find a press release, a link to the webapp, and a trailer at the bottom: moranb.art/projects/Foreignments.html.
The Lab are delighted to announce ‘Foreignments’, a three-channel video webapp by Moran Been-noon launching 22nd February, with a IG Live talk on the 25th.
Acculturation is considered successful when it results in a someone’s competence of the predominant language, rituals and values of a culture. ‘Foreignments’ is a summary of this process through praxis without conclusion. Activated by touch the work allows users to play more than one video at a time, alluding to the ‘tentacular’ quality of acculturation itself.
This work was commissioned by Sara Muthi and kindly funded by Fingal County Council made in partnership with the Lab Gallery.
